B|D Landscape Architects were appointed from concept stage to technical design for the landscape proposals for the new Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building to expand the research carried out by the biomedical faculty at the University.
The approach to the landscape design reflected a shared aspiration to create an inspiring landscape which draws on the University’s rich heritage, the surrounding landscape character and the University’s culture of learning and innovation.
The design was developed to improve connections through the site and to the Gibbet Hill and Main Campus, respect the existing mature trees and implement a sustainable water management strategy.
Through the construction process B|D were appointed to maintain a client-side role to review and comment on the construction package of work undertaken by others.
