Apollo Business Centre

In 2022 BD Landscape Architects were appointed by Hurlington to develop proposals for the landscape design at Apollo Business Centre in Deptford. The scheme comprises the demolition of a metal recycling factory and which will be replaced by a mixed use development comprising student housing, affordable housing and light industrial and retail units at the lower floors.

Overlooking Folkestone Gardens Park the scheme includes a significant improvement to the public realm and biodiversity of the area with 20+ new trees, green roofs, amenity roof terraces with edible planting and substantial planting at ground floor to provide a buffered amenity space for the residents and workers.

The landscape design works hard to respond to the needs of all residents and workers and create cohesion between all the uses housed in Apollo Business Centre.

While students have a dedicated student terrace with ping pong tables, informal seating, lounging and performance spaces, and families have access to a dedicated children’s play roof terrace, the welcoming and biophilic public realm brings everyone together.
