A large and prominent site within the estate is home to Ark Swift Primary School, NHS services, adult education service and a nursery. Ark Education Charity is looking to use the site to create a new community hub with cutting edge facilities which will become the jewel of the estate and for Hammersmith and Fulham.Â
Proposals for the £140m project include a new primary school, a new adult education centre, a cutting-edge youth zone, new nursery, office hub and HQ for Ark and key-worker residential units.
The landscape scheme looks to create a vibrant public realm that unites the diverse mix of stakeholders proposed for the site providing spaces for people of all backgrounds and ages to socialise, learn and play together in a safe, healthy and enriching environment.Â
The design process has been driven by stakeholder engagement with the school, youth zone operator, Ark, the nursery, local residents and existing community centres within the estate.Â
Regular meetings with local groups helped to communicate design aspirations and make sure the existing community were included in the design process.
