This project aims to create an inspiring landscape that pays homage to the former agricultural use of the farm buildings and working livestock courtyard whilst sympathetically sitting within the surrounding landscape of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
B|D have been working with Zac Monro architects to develop the design located within the AONB, the proposal seeks to establish initial principals for the conversion and extension of the listed barn and adjoining buildings at Barnsnape Farm, West Sussex.
The scheme proposes to reuse the existing buildings and site to maintain them in accordance with their status as heritage assets, in perpetuity.
Initially stripping back the site, leaving the boundaries, barn and cow sheds. The new extension will be separate from the old barn - but connected and complementary, reinforcing the enclosed agricultural yard.
The landscape design creates a high-quality proposal that enabled the scheme to pass through planning and our tender set of drawings enabled construction that concluded in 2019.
