Clifton Down Road

B|D landscape architects are working with THAT Group and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios for the redevelopment of this important site in Clifton Village.

The aim is to create a distinctive and high quality landscape environment; an enhanced public realm for Clifton Down that will be of significant value, contributing to the quality and diversity of the area.

Renewing the public realm for Clifton Down provides a great opportunity to improve the surface finishes, aid wayfinding, incorporate public art and create a higher quality space than currently exists. The existing concrete paving will be replaced with a natural stone groundscape in a variety of sizes and laying patterns to emphasise the hierarchy of the spaces and the movement between them.

Shared surfaces at key crossing places gives the priority to pedestrians and create a variety of flexible and high quality spaces that can be used by the surrounding public and businesses.

Following consultation feedback and ongoing discussions with key stakeholders over the past 12 months, the team has further revised the proposals which will be worked up into a final scheme for planning in the next few months.
