The proposal will provide a ‘fit for purpose’, high quality teaching environment that improves significantly upon the existing school buildings, and will resolve current accessibility issues around the site and within the school building. The building will be highly energy efficient to meet BREEAM ‘Very Good’.
The visibility and street presence of the school will be improved, with a clear entrance and welcome for pupils, parents/carers and visitors. This will enhance and contribute to the local area and street-scape.
The proposed school is supported by a series of high quality external spaces; play and learning environments, including a welcome garden, separate and secure Reception play space,
Forest school, and outdoor teaching space.
The design has been developed with the school to maximise the value of the external spaces on a constrained site with complex levels. One of the main aims of the landscape design is to create coherent and accessible routs throughout the site.
